Olinka Green

Olinka Green is a member of the Climate Reality Chapter in Dallas, Texas and a well respected activist in her community. She has been dedicated to Environmental Justice work, and helped raise awareness about the Lane Plating Works Superfund Site after finding out that this toxic site was a few blocks from her home.

Olinka fought with other community leaders to bring the EPA to do testing for water and soil contamination and hold meetings with the community in hopes of getting a cleanup of the site scheduled. She co-led an Environmental Devastation Bus Tour in Dallas with the Texas Poor People’s Campaign to bring awareness to the community of some of the environmental contamination and toxic waste sites in impoverished communities.

Olinka was recognized by the Memnosyne Institute in 2020 for her advocacy and was presented with the Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Award for Environmental Justice. She is constantly involved with her community, recently having organized and hosted a Climate Change Conference in South Dallas in which other community activists and organizations came together and presented on the intersectionality between racial justice and climate justice. Ms. Olinka Green works for the community and she is for the community!
